I HIGHLY recommend Leo’s bike tours!!! I had a blast and part of that was due to the amazing scenery and beautiful views – but it was also due to Leo’s personality. He shared his passion and knowledge of the area throughout the tour and is a very outgoing guy. I am an experienced rider and opted for the ‘expert’ level. Leo called the tour we took the “B.L.T.” – Biking Local Torture! It was around 25 miles of a mix of gravel and dirt roads, trails, and a couple streams. We covered Finca Anita, Palm Plantation, Naranjito, Villanueva, Loudres, and Playa El Cocal (not sure if I spelled all of those sites/towns correct). If you are a serious cyclist – feel free to bring your SPD bike shoes and let Leo know, he can set-up the bikes with clipless pedals (I didn’t bring mine unfortunately). We ended at the local farmer’s market and there is nothing like drinking out of a fresh coconut after a long ride - we also stopped a local outdoor bar and… there is nothing like drinking a cold beer after a long ride as well ;-). Of course, he offers all levels of rides – so don’t worry if you aren’t looking for that type of distance! Or you could always opt for a day at the spa like my wife did! :-)
